MWA is thrilled to announce Bill Newcott will join us at our April 10, 2025, 100th anniversary celebration of the publication of The Great Gatsby––our glittering 1920s-style party.
Author, film critic, radio and TV host, Bill created AARP’s Movies for Grownups franchise and writes regular movie reviews and entertainment blogs for AARP.org, Bill hosts the Gracie Award-winning Movies for Grownups Radio Show, heard on more than 600 stations each week, featuring reviews, previews, and interviews with the most influential people in the film industry. He will talk at the gala about all of the Great Gatsby movies made since the 1930s, how they strayed from the book, how they stuck to the manuscript, how they were influenced by modern times, and much more.

The party starts at 6 p.m. at Elaine’s on Queen Street in Old Town Alexandria and goes until 9 p.m. To sign up use the link in the member newsletter and apply discount code MWA2025 to receive $50 off each of your tickets. You must be a chapter member to receive the discount (but your guest does not). A couple will receive a total of $100 off for the event, which includes your meal and a free glass of champaign.
