On Tuesday, August 9 at 7:00 pm, New York Times bestselling author Raymond Benson, the first American author commissioned to take over writing James Bond novels, will speak on tie-in writing. Benson has written six Bond novels, three movie novelizations, and three short stories. He also wrote two Tom Clancy novels.
Tie-in writing is not well-known, but Benson will share his knowledge of how it can become an important part of a writer’s portfolio.
Benson is the author of more than 40 books, but is best known for being the third—and first American—author commissioned to take over writing the 007 novels. He also wrote Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell and its sequel, under the pseudonym David Michaels. In addition, Benson has written novelizations of videogames, including Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 – Sons of Liberty.
Raymond is a member of Mystery Writers of America, International Thriller Writers, the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers, a full member of ASCAP, and served on the Board of Directors of The Ian Fleming Foundation for sixteen years.
