Fact vs Fiction: An Evening with James Renner

Please join the Mid-Atlantic chapter of Mystery Writers of America for an evening with true crime writer, novelist and podcaster James Renner to talk about storytelling in fact and fiction. Renner is:

  • a podcaster (The Philosophy of Crime),
  • true crime writer(Amy: My Search for her Killer: Secrets and Suspects in the Unsolved Murder of Amy Mihaljevic, True Crime Addict: How I Lost Myself in the Mysterious Disappearance of Maura Murray, The Serial Killer’s Apprentice),
  • novelist(The Man from Primrose Lane, Muse, The Great Forgetting),
  • journalist(formerly with Cleveland Scene and The Cleveland Independent),
  • director(of a short film based on a Stephen King story and a documentary about J.D. Salinger)
  • and the founder of The Porchlight Project, a nonprofit whose mission is raise money to help interested Ohio police departments pay for DNA analysis and other expensive modern forensic methods to solve cold cases. Their first time out of the box they funded a DNA analysis that solved a cold case from the 1980s.

This meeting is free, but registration is necessary. We’re using Eventbrite for our reservations.
